Showdown at Lone Pine
Raymond D. Mason
When an Arizona cattle rancher loses his wife and baby daughter to a fever, he pulls up stakes and heads for California. Along the way he invites a saloon girl, who wants nothing more than to change her lifestyle, to join him. She accepts, but her boss says he has claim to her until she pays off the money she owes him. The rancher pays off the debt, but then is forced to kill the saloon owner's brother in self defense. A blood feud is formed that follows the couple all the way to California. A good read for the Western fan.
