We sometimes think we can run away from the past. Many do. This, however, isn't a great strategy. The past will usually find a way to catch up, and it will sometimes declare its final victory in a parade of persistent mental images that slowly take hold of a person's imagination and thinking. This story goes through the mind of an old 'king' with a mysterious past. Images start creeping on his seemingly blissful life, revealing a wide set of possibilities and scenarios about his past. As they destroy his sanity and tranquility, he is forced to confront his past and think about choices he has made (or thinks he has made). This short ( 60 pages) graphic novel is a visual experience, and as the reader goes through the story, he/she will hopefully think about ambition, selfishness, symbolism, fears, and the inescapable shadow of the past.. mighty and persistent !The graphic novel is not like a comic. It is intended to be read at a much slower pace, and each drawing was designed carefully to depict psychological states and to contain symbols that expand the dimensions of the story.
