The Paris based collective behind 9AM Records have, over the space of three releases, brought a much needed breath of fresh air and a whole array of brilliantly played and produced party music. Bringing together musicians and studio whizkids, 9AM have dropped some of the slickest and cheekiest anthems of the past months. Whilst the Crew love to delve deep into their record collection to unearth their favourite samples, they create their music by bringing these together with their own live elements. The combination has brought us a wealth of fantastic new music, much of which wearing well known faces. Today 9AM introduce us to a new artist, Valmont. Raised on Paris' Underground Rave scene and a avid collector of vinyl, Valmont has matured with an obsessive love of musical machines. Sampler's, Synths and Drum Machines together with his admiration for the pioneers of the 80's, Chicago, New Wave, Electro Funk and Italo sounds and scenes have all inspired his own music, as he seeks to perpetuate the old grooves with a heavy slice of modernity. His three track debut for 9AM sees him refreshing the 80's. Heavy on the samples, Valmont expertly and seamlessly brings them together on a bed of groove-heavy electro-breakbeats.
