'Wasa Wasa' is the debut album by the Edgar Broughton Band. The material is highly psychedelic acid rock. It's impossible not to hear Captain Beefheart's influence. If you mix the manic frenzy of Beefheart with the accessible garage derived drive of the 13th Floor Elevators and add some Arthur Brownish mannerisms, then this is what you'll get, a highly enjoyable and powerful album of dirty hard rock. With the dark-as-fuck "American Boy Soldier", the extremely heavy blues jamming of "Death Of An Electric Citizen", and one of the most nightmarish trips ever caught on tape, "Dawn Crept Away". This is the darkest and heaviest psych of the (1963-1973) decade.
