Upright Piano: Live at Bar Moskus

Pianist Tor Einar Bekken (Dr Bekken) is one of Norway's foremost representatives of the traditional blues/jazz scene, and through his long career he has studied and played various typical styles within this musical direction. As one of the main practitioners in the country, he has the skills to translate traditional blues and jazz into the modern times. This live-album is an organic recording from Bar Moskus in Trondheim, with the audience present. The recording shows Bekken's breadth as a performer and composer, and clearly refers to both his inspirational US-encounters (Chris Smith, Fats Domino, Earl Hines, Thomas Waller, Randy Newman a.o.), and a sidelight to the traditional Norwegian tones from Finnskogen.
