The Very Best Of
Bing Crosby
Bing Crosby was undoubtedly the most important name in pop
vocal history. Bing was the performer who really dragged the
genre of popular singing out of the megaphone age and onto the
record players of the world at large. He loved making records,
way back in 1931 he commenced his solo chart career with an
array of hits that included four of the biggest selling records of the
year, and from then on just continued delivering sounds that kept
record pressing plants fully employed. He could sing anything,
from downright novelty material through to highgrade jazz. And
he made it all sound classy.
