Bill Brunskills Jazzmen
This is the first CD to be released as a tribute to one of the pioneers of authentic New Orleans jazz in Britain. East London-born trumpeter Bill Brunskill, who died in 2002, was praised by Ken Colyer for his tremendous tone and attack.
Over a career lasting more than half a century he played a major part in encouraging many younger musicians. Brunskill earned the respect of the European jazz scene for his enduring contribution to the music he loved.
Apart from his passionate playing, Brunskill's characteristic cockney vocals helped gain him a loyal following over the years and are well-represented on this rumbustious live session.
