Cry Coloured edition
Simple Minds
After leaving the Virgin label, and a one-off album with Chrysalis, Simple Minds took stock and decided to make records for themselves. After an album of cover versions of songs dear to Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, "Neon Lights", was released in October 2001, the band went straight back into the studio to record an album of new
compositions.
"Cry" was released in April 2002, and was recorded in Glasgow, with further recordings made in Sicily with Italian musicians. The five bonus tracks feature non-album b-sides, including a version of Buffalo Springfield's anthem "For What It's Worth", as well as a remix by Planet Funk.
Housed in a handsome digipak, the booklet features photos and newly-written revealing annotation by Jim Kerr himself
