One of the best of our new records, this CD marks the debut of a remarkable talent who belongs in the same category as BR5-49 and Big Sandy. James has been playing music in the Los Angeles area since he was ten years old. In the early Eighties he fronted the Rockin' Shadows, a rockabilly trio which produced one single on Dog House that was featured on Art Fein's 'L. A. Rockabilly. ' James' brother, Ricky, was in the group that died alongside Rick Nelson in the plane crash. James is currently playing guitar for the Blasters and has an eight-piece Forties style swing band, Jimmy & The Gigolos. He also has a song on the critically acclaimed country album, 'A Town South Of Bakersfield.' His first solo album is a contemporary rockabilly classic. The songs include Blue Blue Day, Kermit Vale, Wild Places, and Barely Hanging On.
