(2-CD set) Irving Berlin once said "it is much more difficult for me to write successes now because people expect so much from me on account of previous hits." He said this to an interviewer in 1919 on the eve of the greatest productivity and successes ever known to any songwriter. This double album covers this period, which included his classic waltz ballads and the Music Box revues, the Ziegield Follies, the songs for early talkies, and much more. Rusty Dedrick's orchestra concentrates on 13 years, only a fraction of Berlin's tenure as the nation's musical laureate.
