Eric Burdon
'Eric Burdon, the former leader of the Animals, is back with a stunning new disc. The Brit who helped reintroduce Americans to the blues in the early sixties with classics like 'House of the Rising Sun' fills these fourteen tracks with his big, bad baritone, echoing the wisdom in the saying: it's the singer, not the song.' - NEW YORK POST Eric Burdon was the legendary lead vocalist of the Animals, who had more hit records than any other British R&B group of the sixties except the Rolling Stones. Burdon relocated to California in the late sixties and became a leader of the West Coast psychedelic scene. He discovered the group War and recorded with them from 1969- 1971 before going solo in the mid-seventies and recording prolifically for the next three decades. A great companion to his new hit CD Soul of a Man, Wild & Wicked includes live recordings from Los Angeles's Roxy in 1976 and rare studio recordings from an unreleased soundtrack to an unreleased film.
