Australian singer/songwriter Brian Baker has released what is being described as his finest work - a collection of stunning songs entitled, 'Prague Radio'. Baker previously performed with Eddie Rayner, the infamous Split Enz and Crowded House keyboard player. Together they created 'The Makers', releasing two CDs in the nineties, and touring Australia and New Zealand. Continuing their relationship Baker and Rayner have collaborated on two songs for 'Prague Radio' - 'It's All Love' and 'Head in the Clouds'. After working on the album for the last 18 months, an elegant, timeless pop record has been produced. 'I set myself limits so as to convey the songs in an open and honest manner - acoustic guitar, accompanied by bass and drums, sparse electric guitar, and layered harmony vocals.' The result is a warm, open sounding CD in the old school of pop music, evoking strong memories of The Beatles and Crowded House. Prague Radio is Bakers 2nd solo CD, following 'The Field' released in 1995. His work also features on the soundtrack to the Australian cult classic movie, 'Rikki and Pete', two Makers CDs, (their self titled debut in 1990 and 'Hokey Pokey' in the following year), and rock act Big Head Little Body's 1999 release 'Bug'. Check this CD out. If you like good songs, strong melodies, and vocal harmonies you'll love it.
