'Bachman-Turner Overdrive' is the self-titled debut album by Canadian brothers Randy, Tim, and Robbie Bachman plus bassist C. F. Turner and gives a good preview of what is to come from them on subsequent releases. This album was originally to be titled 'Brave Belt III', as Brave Belt was the name of the group before they became Bachman-Turner Overdrive. Previous to the chart success of BTO, guitarist Randy Bachman had already seen the highs and lows of rock and roll as being a part of the chart-topping success of "American Woman" with The Guess Who in 1970. Highlights include "Gimme Your Money Please "and the jazzy "Blue Collar ". Both songs made the lower rung of charts.
