Prefab Sprout
Jordan: The Comeback is the fifth studio album by English pop band Prefab Sprout. A 19-track album covering a variety of musical styles and themes, Jordan is considered Prefab Sprout's most ambitious project by both the band and critics. The album was produced by Thomas Dolby, who had overseen the band's acclaimed 1985 album Steve McQueen but had been unable to commit to its 1988 full-length follow-up From Langley Park to Memphis.
Frontman Paddy McAloon thematically divided the album into four segments - pure pop material, a suite about Elvis Presley, love songs and a section on “death and destiny.” The songs often deal with religion and celebrity, referencing such figures as Jesse James, Agnetha Fältskog, God and the Devil.
