Luminous Woman Directors Company edition

Keiji Mutô stars in this Japanese drama directed by Shinji Sômai. Sensaku (Mutô) travels from the mountains of Hokkaido to Tokyo's sordid streets in search of his fiancée Kuriko (Narumi Yasuda), who disappeared after moving to the city to study. Upon arriving in Tokyo, he discovers a strange club where patrons are entertained by a combination of staged fights, opera and performance art and meets Yoshino (Michiru Akiyoshi), an opera singer who has lost her voice.

After agreeing to fight in exchange for information about Kuriko, the two are reunited, but she is reluctant to return home. As he waits for her, he continues to fight at the club and bonds with Yoshino, while dreaming of his life back in the mountains.
