The Promised Land (Aka Ziemia Obiecana)

Andrzej Wajda writes and directs this Polish period drama starring Daniel Olbrychski, Wojciech Pszoniak and Andrzej Seweryn. The film follows Max (Seweryn), Moritz (Pszoniak) and Karol (Olbrychski), three ambitious businessmen looking to profit from the rise of industry in continental Europe during the 19th century. All equally as ruthless as each other, the three men come up against numerous hurdles and some stiff competition in their pursuit of wealth.
