Collection of five films starring Denzel Washington. In 'The Little Things' (2021), set in 1990s Los Angeles, unlikely partners Kern County Deputy Sheriff Joe 'Deke' Deacon (Washington) and LAPD detective Jim Baxter (Rami Malek) join forces to hunt down a serial killer terrorising the city. They think they have found their killer when they arrest oddball loner Albert Sparma (Jared Leto) but are frustrated in their attempts to prove his guilt, leading to clashes between the two officers as Deke wrestles with the trauma of an old case.
In 'American Gangster' (2007), when his boss dies, underworld driver Lucas (Washington) seizes his chance and begins to build his own criminal empire. Utilising the bodies of dead US soldiers, Lucas begins importing heroin direct from South-East Asia, increasing purity on the street, and undercutting his rivals in one swoop. Before long he's amassed a fortune, bringing him to the attention of maverick policeman Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe), an honest cop in an otherwise corrupt force, who makes it his business to shut Lucas down.
In 'Training Day' (2001) rookie cop Jake Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) has been newly assigned to an elite narcotics unit and is due to spend his first day on the job with veteran detective Alonzo Harris (Washington). As the day passes, and after dealing with street thugs and drug tycoons, Hoyt begins to suspect that Harris might have become corrupted by the job. When Harris then murders criminal kingpin Roger (Scott Glenn) and tries to get the act pinned on Hoyt, the young cop realises that he has no choice but to confront Harris himself.
In 'Fallen' (1998) Philadelphia detective John Hobbes (Washington) watches as Edgar Reese (Elias Koteas), the serial killer he helped bring to justice is executed. However, Reese behaves oddly prior to his death, and soon after his execution killings similar to his own crimes start once more. Hobbes begins receiving late-night phone calls from the copycat killer, and follows a trail of clues to another detective, Milano, who killed himself in a remote cabin 30 years ago.
Carved on the wall is the name Azazel - translated as demon of the wilderness. With the help of Milano's daughter Gretta (Embeth Davidtz), Hobbes realises that Reese and Milano were both hosts for a killer fallen angel, which now has its sights set on him... Finally, in 'The Pelican Brief' (1993) sharp-witted law student Darby Shaw (Julia Roberts) finds herself the target of murder when her thesis determining why two US justices were killed falls into the wrong hands.
Supported by Washington-based journalist Gray Grantham (Washington), she seeks to find out who is behind the threats against her life, and bring them to justice.
