Collection of four classic film noir features. In 'The Suspect' (1944) Philip Marshall (Charles Laughton) finds himself falling in love with Mary Gray (Ella Raines), but he's already unhappily married to Cora (Rosalind Ivan). When Cora falls down the stairs and dies, Inspector Huxley (Stanley Ridges) suspects that Philip murdered her, but can he prove it? 'The Sleeping City' (1950) sees detective Fred Rowan (Richard Conte) go undercover at a New York hospital to investigate the murder of an intern.
He discovers that Pop Ware (Richard Taber), an elevator operator, has been loaning money to interns and getting them to steal drugs to pay off their debts, but what does nurse Ann Sebastian (Coleen Gray) have to do with it all? In 'Thunder On the Hill' (1951) convicted murderer Valerie Carns (Ann Blyth) is on her way to prison when flooding closes the roads. Her guards seek refuge in the hospital ward of a convent where Sister Mary Bonaventure (Claudette Colbert) becomes convinced of Valerie's innocence. She begins to investigate, putting her life in danger.
Finally, in 'Six Bridges to Cross' (1955) Jerry Florea (Sal Mineo/Tony Curtis) is shot by rookie policeman Edward Gallagher (George Nader) and over the years, the two become friends. That friendship becomes strained as Jerry continues to get into trouble, eventually planning and executing a bank robbery. Is it too late for redemption for Jerry?
