The Green Ray

The plot recounts the difficult search for an optical phenomenon, "the green ray", which can be seen under certain conditions at the moment when the sun disappears over the horizon of the sea. Legend has it that two people who see it at the same time automatically fall in love with each other. It is a magical moment when two people discover love at the same time. This novel by Jules Verne is one of the least known of his production and focuses more on an interesting and beautiful journey along the coasts of Scotland, in search of the elusive green ray, which will decide the future of the young Elena Campbell.
