The Floating City

Synopsis: The Great Eastern ocean liner is a luxurious and gigantic steamboat, of English construction, but chartered by the French, that travels from Liverpool to New York. Various events happen on the ship, including the one that some passengers believed that a ghost made sudden appearances. Among the events to entertain travelers is a race for the deck, where the contest for the winner leads to facing two gentlemen Fabián Mac Elwin and the rogue Harry Drake. Fabían's companions realized that Drake had married his girlfriend 10 years ago; Miss Elena. The rivalries continued, leading to a duel. Right in the duel a storm breaks out and a lightning bolt kills Drake, at the moment it is discovered that Elena is present but she has lost her mind, and she is the ghost that many believed they saw. Jules Verne biography: He was born on February 8, 1828, in Nantes (France). In 1839 he tried to escape to India on board a ship, but was surprised by his father and had to promise that from now on he would only travel in his imagination. At twelve he began to write poetry. In 1848 he moved to Paris (France) to study law, shortly after he met the French writer Alexander Dumas and his son, who became his protectors.
