The New England seasonal landscape inspires my watercolor. A Little Watercolorist incorporates my painting and thoughts, which are expressed through illustration. The little girl appreciates people, animals, nature and her surroundings. She expresses love, caring and support through her daily life. Design elements of color, value, texture, shape and line contrast within painted and illustrated areas to attract the viewers attention, allowing for an imaginative connection between the sections. In the painting, full color harmony and value changes are used to create space and atmosphere. Shapes are not defined by lines, but by the brush marks that create natural textures. In contrast, the illustrations are constructed with simple line and shape without the use of color, value and texture. The proportion and interrelationship of the painting and illustration gradually shifts to create excitement and movement within each story. A lively storytelling style has been adapted to be simple and rhythmic. I've added Japanese to share this work with people from my own country of Japan.
