It's Halloween and Chloe Montgomery, one of the most notorious young socialites in Los Angeles, has organized a secret soirée for her friends to celebrate Nicholas Van Ryn's 21st birthday at a recently renovated mansion that might be haunted or might just have good advertising. The extravaganza doesn't sit well with her jealous boyfriend, Lexington Pruitt, but his wandering eye has landed on Anna Odessa, who recently broke up with the birthday boy and daringly shows up to the party with some dreamy arm candy. Meanwhile, Simone Demonigue and Florence Rothschild do their best to keep up appearances and maintain the only sense of stability in the erratic group. It's all very dramatic, but if scandalous secrets aren't enough to complicate the evening then the notable killing of Bethany Waldorf surely is! Solving this murder on the word of several unreliable, drunken, and drug-fuelled party animals will be no easy task.
