The Care and Feeding of the A-12/ SR-71 Blackbirds in Captivity / REVISED
Jeannette Remak
This book is a 2020 revised version of the 2017 issue. There have been updates, new photos and other material included. Ever wonder why when you go to Museums to see an A-12 or an SR-71 how they got in either that great condition orterrible condition? This directive was requested by the Roadrunners Internationale Organization. They are the group that is responsible for flying and maintaining the Lockheed A-12/ OXCART program and SENIOR CROWN. Lockheed built and helped maintain these very rare and elusive aircraft. The A-12 and the SR-71 are the backbone of Aerial Reconnaissance for the United States. Maintenance of these aircraft has always been in question, as many of these very few aircraft are left to the elements and appear in poor condition, mis-marked with the wrong information and have been poorly maintained by the host museums. This directive will give the pertinent information on restoration and procedures of maintenance of these aircraft, including an appendices that carries material direct from the A-12 manual.
