For over two hundred years after the enactment of the Second Amendment, the right to bear arms had a relatively simple meaning. This right was based on the long-standing "Castle Doctrine" - that people have a right to use simple firearms to defend their hearth and home. But for the past two decades, the entire spirit and legal tradition of the Second Amendment has been thwarted and manipulated to meet the objectives of the NRA, the gun industry and criminals. We need to stand up and reject these lies. We need to face the truth and the reality of what these mass shootings do to us. Our society and history have been forever changed in 2020 alone because we rejected indifference, callousness and lies and stood up for human life, truth and justice. Now is the time to also stop guns from controlling US/A!
