Tom Swift and His Air Glider or Seeking the Platinum Treasure

While testing one of his many planes, Tom needed an emergency landing for repairs. He complained about the use of low-grade platinum for his magnets, and escaped Russian exiles listened to him. The man told Tom of a secret platinum mine deep in Siberia. The man also explained that his brother is still in exile and that he will provide further assistance to find landmines. Tom organized an expedition to rescue the exiles and find platinum mines.
