Charlotte's Wonderful Water World is a children's chapter book in the fantasy genre. The story is about a young girl named Charlotte who spends lots of time with her grandparents at the mobile home park where they live. Charlotte and her grandparents are regulars at the pool and have made friends with the other residents and their guests who are pool goers. Charlotte is befriended by Mizz Kathryn, the author of the book, who helps her with her swimming and diving techniques. Charlotte has a lovely pink heart-shaped floaty she likes to bring to the pool to play with. In this story, her floaty is the "heart of Atlantis" and she and Mizz Kathryn discover that diving through the center of it will transport a person to the under-water mythical city of Atlantis, ruled by King Neptune. Charlotte dives through the floaty and is instantly transformed into a mermaid and finds herself in the company of other mermaids in Atlantis where she is given a mission to save the world from the evil Suma-Ket. She and King Neptune and his subjects join forces to plot a way to capture and be rid of Suma-Ket. It requires great courage from Charlotte, who is known as Kendra in the underwater world. Will she be successful? Will she accept the reward of becoming the immortal goddess Iris? Will she be able to save her grandparents and the people of the Tampa Bay area from the Category five hurricane sent their way by the evil Suma-Ket? The answers to these questions and more can be found in Charlotte's Wonderful Water World.
