Rescued - A Dog's Tale

A homeless, unloved dog, living on the busy, polluted streets
of Guatemala finds shelter and love through a chance meeting
with a traveller named Ceiba who works as a teacher in a
school located in beautiful Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
Mani, one of the lucky street dogs, not only finds a friend in
Ceiba her rescuer, she also later finds a permanent home with
a new family to love her in the United States of America.
Mani is one of many street dogs who live in a dangerous and
unfriendly environment for dogs on the noisy, dirty streets of
San Pedro, La Laguna. There is a lack of respect, food and
wellbeing for animals like her in Guatemala. She spends her
days searching for food, shelter and love. After grabbing the
attention of Ceiba and her friend Tony at a cafe, Mani finds
herself on a boat, travelling to the other side of the lake
with her two new companions, on her way to a new beginning.
In the town of Panajachel, Mani has a new home with Ceiba and
it is there she not only receives her name but she also
becomes a healthy, happy and sociable dog, loved by the
students at Ceiba's school.
There are certainly still dangers for Mani as she navigates
her way through a new life with Ceiba. She must endure a
procedure with a veterinary doctor, survive a vicious attack
by two dogs and face the reality of separation from the person
that saved her life
