Agostino Tassi, mostly famous for the accusation of rape against Artemisia Gentileschi, was an exceptional painter of landscapes and skilled art entrepreneur, one of the most talented among the artists who operated in Rome in the first half of the seventeenth century. The book is written as a novel, set in the historical context in which Tassi lived, but the facts are real, taken from historical documents such as letters and archival papers.
