Waste is a material discharged and discarded from each stage of our daily life activities, which leads to adverse impacts on human health and the environment when managed improperly. We generate waste such as food remnants, paper/cartons, textile materials, bones, ash/dust/stones, dead animals, human and animal excreta, construction and demolishing debris, biomedical debris, household hardware. Increasing population, rapid economic growth and the rise in community living standards accelerate waste generation in the form of municipal solid and liquid as well as industrial emissions and effluents. The awareness of making the most of waste in on increase with the help of intensive and extensive research works. This book combines years of experiences in teaching and researching on waste management. The perception that 'waste is a resource out of place' got proper attention by researchers in recent years. This book would contribute to researchers some insights of approaching the issue with experimentations and easily adoptable methodologies. Data collection and synthesis has been given due emphasis in the number of research works that lead to the preparation of this book.
