Leadership in It-organizations: Austria-iran: a Comparative Study

The globalization process is moving the business world towards connecting colleagues, customers and clients from different cultures. Thus, there will be ever more need to make strong connections between international and multicultural managers and employees. Iran and Austria are different nations and there might be differences in their leadership behavior as well as in their leadership style. This study attempts to provide an overview of the leadership behavior and styles practiced in small IT-organizations in the capitals of two culturally different countries, Iran and Austria. Furthermore, it tries to relate the leadership behavior identified to the cultural values documented in two major studies; the GLOBE project by Javidan/Dastmalchian (2003) and Hofstede's study (1980). A wide range of people will find this book interesting, from academic researchers to managers and employees who face this issue on a day to day basis.
