Henri Matisse: "Cut-outs", "Jazz"

After a monumental career as a painter, sculptor, and lithographer, Henri Matisse (1869-1954) was struck down by illness and no longer able to stand upright and use a paintbrush. At this stage in his life, he developed a technique of drawing shapes on brightly colored paper. This title presents the most important result of cut-outs period: Jazz.
