The venue was situated in one of L- don s ?nest locations, adjacent to landmarks such as The Royal Albert Hall and the Science, NaturalHistory and Victoria andAlbert Museums, with Hyde Park just a short walk away. Over the last decade, the MICCAI conferences have become a premier - ternational event, with papers of very high standard addressing the multid- ciplinary ?elds of biomedical image computing, computer-assisted intervention and medical robotics. The conference has attracted annually leading scientists, engineers and clinicians from a wide range of disciplines. This year, we received a record submission of 804 papers from 36 di?- ent countries worldwide. These covered medical image computing (functional and di?usion image analysis, segmentation, physical and functional modelling, shape analysis, atlases and statistical models, registration, data fusion and m- tiscaleanalysis), computer-assistedinterventionsandrobotics(planning and- ageguidanceofinterventions, simulationandtrainingsystems, clinicalplatforms, visualization and feedback, robotics and human robot interaction), and clinical imagingandbiomarkers(computer-aideddiagnosis, organ/systemspeci?capp- cations, molecular and optical imaging and imaging biomarkers)."
