The overwhelming interest in Sports at our time is a landmark evolution. Amidst highly publicized Sports' scandals that so often tarnish its image; there is recourse to spirituality that is trying to show the positive side of it. The Church has initiated pastoral strategies aimed at rescuing the field of Sports from hanging on the superficial and spectacular. The new approach of the Church seeks to remind spectators and players that, the Sport is both physical and spiritual. The two are to be balanced to enable Sports promote individual transformation, communal living, and reconciliation in society. In fact God can be experienced through Sports, thus motivating love and concern for the people. In a globalized world, Sports' events like Olympic Games, the World Cup Finals, and many of such opportunities; can help the human family come together to the values of friendship and common understanding.
