Almas Synnove Hofseth
Synnove Hofseth Almas is an associate professor at Biomedical Laboratory Science, Aalesund University College, Norway. She holds a PhD in interprofessional education in health care. Her interests and areas of research and development work are connected to sociology of professions, the need for interprofessional education and interprofessional competence. This is seen in light of Aristotle and his concept of gnosis and the theory of Pierre Bourdieu about the educational system. She is participating a Norwegian national action-oriented network project called the Collaboration across professional boundaries, investigating how health and social education in Norway prepare future professionals for interprofessional user-oriented collaboration. She is a member of the steering group of a Nordic Interprofessional Network, an editorial board member and reviewer of Journal of Interprofessional Care.
