The aim of the Handbook of Entrepreneurial Finance is to give readers an up-to-date overview of what is known about entrepreneurial finance in all its forms and, at the same time, to show where this field is heading.
The handbook is organized differently from earlier efforts to sum up this field.. It starts from the basic premise that entrepreneurial finance must be studied from the perspective of the entrepreneur. It, therefore, begins at the level of the individual and examines how entrepreneurs finance themselves without looking externally. Part 2 looks at those financing forms that entrepreneurs are most likely to turn to when they need more than they currently have. Part 3 deals with all external financing instruments. After considering these three levels of funding, the final section of the handbook looks at new perspectives. This section examines how the field might be shaped by perspectives that have been relatively neglected to date.
