For many of us, this past reality is already distant, unreachable, barely imaginable, but nonetheless it can be shared, because the well-known Flemish Esperantist Eddy Raats has made it available to us by revealing his memories here, memories first written down for the purpose of elucidating for himself his own human development, his journey towards Esperanto, and his outlook on the world.
