Excerpt from Poetaster: And Satiromastix Another period of Dekker's career might be marked o?' from 1602 to 1613. In this latter year he fell once more into the hands of the law, and was confined till 1616 in the King's Bench Prison. Verses written that year from the King's Bench and an undated letter addressed to Edward Alleyn points him out as the friend in need. Within these eleven years Dekker wrote alone the follow ing plays and pamphlets: The W onderfull Teare 1603, wherein is shewed the picture of London lying sick of the Plague, 1603; The Honest Whore, 1604.
