The transition from a small town life to life at a major university can be tricky waters to navigate; especially if the world you were prepared for is not the one in which you encounter. This is what happens to Gabriel Peterson as he leaves a small Midwestern town to attend a large university, only to find that the world he was anticipating to see is not the same world he finds. Gabriel is forced to balance the Christian world he left at home with the secular world he was brought up to fear at the university. Gabriel's existence on campus forces him to not only see how others view him, but how they see other members of his faith. Through the turbulent changes he flips between what he was instructed to be, and what he is by nature. A new fear rises in him and he's unsure how to present the changes he's made to his outlook to his parents, former friends and various church members back home. It is within this balancing act that Gabriel finds love, culture, music, art, and himself.
