The council estates of Nottingham can be rough places where drugs, alcohol, anger, and hopelessness mix with volatile results.



Twenty-one-year-old Clara Parker, a single mother with a broken heart, lives in a council flat. The man she thought loved her walked out after the birth of their daughter, and Clara resigned herself to a miserable life full of struggle. But then charming, handsome Joe Miller comes along, and Clara dares to love again.



Unfortunately, Joe isn't what he seems. He's deep into Nottingham's drug culture-a cruel, manipulative pusher with two drug-addicted sisters and a set of dangerous friends.



Capitalizing on Clara's vulnerability and kind heart, Joe quickly turns abusive.
