Love in a Locket

When Samantha was twelve, she received a gold locket from Duke Spradley, a sometime misunderstood fourteen-year-old young boy. Sam and Duke were childhood sweethearts in spite of the consternation and disapproval of her parents. They drifted apart in High School, but the locket always remained around her neck. Years later, Sam received a call from Duke, who was home on leave from the Army. Thus begins a rapturous romance. Having learned of Sam and Duke's stay at the family cottage, her parents are enraged and engage in a fiery confrontation. At this point, Sam's Dad makes a decision that changes the course of Sam and Duke's relationship.
