A Simple Twist of Fate

Rookie homicide detective Tara Hughes investigates her first brutal murder case. An eighteen-year-old girl is found strangled in a stable owned by the girl's dad. Who did it and why-what could possibly merit the murder of this innocent teen-age girl?

As Tara digs into the case the more convoluted it becomes. Tara devises a plan to turn the tables on the suspects using their own greed against them. This isn't a typical murder with a clear-cut motive. Tara finds bank wire fraud, art forgery scams, jewelry thefts, faked deaths and even Ponzi-schemes surrounding the victim.

However, Detective Hughes won't have any trouble staying focused. She has her hot new partner Lance, who seems to be harboring mysteries of his own.
