I Hear the Rocks Falling

The woman caught in adultery trembled at the feet of Jesus, waiting for the stones to crush her. Instead she heard the rocks falling to the ground. One by one her accusers walked away and Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more." While most of us were not in her situation, past hurts, sin and failure often trap us in self-imposed prisons. Repeated offences deepen our sense of loss stacking one harsh, hardened, and hurtful memory on top of another until the walls around us seem insurmountable.
I pray that you know the Lord who so willingly took your place delivering you from all sin, fear, insecurity and condemnation. May you walk free, of the past, with no hand [real or imagined] raised to throw a stone at you.
