I went through the terminal disease of my daughter for 5 years, her death at age 6, a divorce, and life's many other challenges only to learn God has a plan for it all. I demonstrate that you can endure life's storms and avoid getting bitter by knowing God better and receive blessings. I show readers how they are chosen for their unique blessings in the storms of life created just for them. In order to transform our storms to blessings we each must take action to prepare in peace, endure the storm, and finally, restore the reason to our lives. In each circumstance I learned valuable lessons of faith that saved me from myself, taught me to trust, and corrected my conviction. I learned there is a pattern to faith - when I let go and step out on faith; God comes through in ways I never expect to happen. May this book encourage you to see that you are Chosen to be Blessed, especially in the storms of life. As a child I hid under the stairs coloring the wood under the steps, scared and praying not to get a spanking. I had broken a rule and this was my out of sight play place. I thought, "out of sight, out of mind." Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. Most times I didn't think I deserved the spankings. Is that how God hands out pain and storms in our lives? We all have a choice to deny God or seek fellowship in Christ's sufferings. If you look deep enough in your storm, He is able to give you peace, endurance, and a reason in the storms of life. Prepare in Peace - I wanted God to show me a sign that he existed, that he was real. I said "God if you are real help me win this bible quiz competition." I won the district quiz meet, but more importantly won my faith that day. Have you ever challenged God with a sign in your crisis of faith? Did you expect Him to deliver you when you ask for something that you believe is right? Endure the Eye - of the storm where there is peace and calm comparative to the storm going on all around you. I had just lost my wife to divorce and my daughter to a terminal illness of 5 years. I had made it to the end, I had endured until God called her home. But now to grieve and get on with life, she was in heaven, so I must be strong to make it there and be with her. Now, what do I do? Learning to forgive was like learning to talk again after brain surgery. But when I believed in His promises and acted in faith, my healing came, little by little, day by day, expecting Him to provide for my every needs and be my hiding place in the eye of the storm. Restore the Reason - A few years after my lowest point, God gave me daughters when I never thought I have them again. After losing my first daughter, God gave me a stepdaughter to love and take care of. It is more challenging than I imagined. I almost lost her in a different way, but God saw fit to use me to rescue her. I doing so, I realized my mission and reason in life is to bring Gods restoration to others around me. Not by anything that I would do, but just being obedient to sharing His unconditional love with my girls and those around me.
