The Complex Buddhist - Doing Good in a Challenging World bridges and interweaves complexity, social innovation and Buddhist practice and thinking. It is within the co-mingled fluid states of each that real innovation lurks and the emergent possible is but a breath away. And while these essays all reflect a very human attempt to raise questions and find answers to pressing social issues, they are also never very far from the sound of laughter and humor. Each of these inquires requires us to meet the world exactly as it is and as it continually shows-up. To do otherwise delivers nothing more than a fabrication of our biases, projections, and prejudices. But when those bias projections and prejudices surface, if we are unable to laugh at ourselves for once again slipping on the proverbial banana peel, we obviously still have a great deal of work to do. As the Complex Buddhist, I am always slipping. But I also know, that every interaction has the possibility of transformation and that's why I keep getting up.
