THIS PUBLICATION OF "RAMBLING ORTZELS" IS THE FIRST NEST OF ORTZELS TO HAVE FLEDGED AND TO BE OPEN TO PUBLIC SCRUTINY. THE PRESENT FORMAT OF ORTZELS REMAINS CONSISTENT WITH ITS ORIGINAL STRUCTURE DEVELOPED OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO; A SIMPLE THREE LINE, FOURTEEN SYLLABLE POEM; THE FIRST LINE IS SEVEN SYLLABLES, THE SECOND LINE IS FOUR AND THE THIRD LINE IS THREE SYLLABLES IN LENGTH. THE VERY FIRST ORTZELS WERE SPONTANEOUSLY COMPOSED IN A FASHION WITHOUT FORETHOUGHT TO THEIR FORMATION NOR ANALYSIS OF THEIR CAUSE AND PURPOSE. VERY LITTLE HAS ALTERED THE METHOD IN WHICH ORTZELS ARE COMPOSED TODAY. CAREFUL OBSERVATION AND PRACTICE HAS HELPED TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE COMPOSITIONAL THOUGHT FORM PROCESS THAT GOES INTO CREATING THESE APHORISTIC WORDS OF COMMENTARY.
