Publisher Marketing: Each issue of The Believer includes essays on pop culture, politics, art, and music, as well as lengthy interviews with philosophers, politicians, and poets. Contributor Bio: Julavits, Heidi Heidi Julavits is the author of two previous novels, The Mineral Palace and The Effect of Living Backwards, as well as a collaborative book, Hotel Andromeda, with the artist Jenny Gage. She is a founding editor of The Believer, and her writings have appeared in Esquire, Time, The New York Times, McSweeney's among other places. She lives in Manhattan and Maine. Contributor Bio: Park, Ed Dr. Ed Park, MD, MPH, is a telomere and telomerase expert and founder of Recharge Biomedical. He graduated with honors from Harvard University with BA (Bachelor of Arts) in Biological Anthropology in 1989. Dr. Park received MD (Doctor of Medicine) from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, and MPH (Master of Public Health) from Columbia University, School of Public Health, in 1993. He completed internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital, a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School in 1997. Dr. Park was an attending physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology with Kaiser Permanante, Orange County, California from 1997-2001. He later became a Private Practice Ob-Gyn, Orange County, with additional services in Laser Aesthetics and Injectables at Cosmedique Laser Center. Contributor Bio: Vida, Vendela VENDELA VIDA is the award-winning author of four books, most recently Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name and The Lovers, and a founding editor of Believer magazine. She is also the co-editor of Always Apprentices, a collection of interviews with writers, and Confidence or the Appearance of Confidence, a collection of interviews with musicians. She has written a number of screenplays, and is currently developing her novel Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name into a film with German director Eva Weber.
