Description: On 30th September 1938, Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain, addresses a large crowd from a first-floor window of 10 Downing Street. To rousing cheers, he announces that his joint agreement with Hitler will mean, "peace in our time". Words, which even as he says them, he doubts will turn out to be true.
With war almost inevitable, he sends a high-ranking government official to Canada to negotiate the setting up of the Commonwealth Air Training Plan.
In Oxford, the government official's daughter and his niece are blissfully unaware that by agreeing to accompany him to Canada, they will have their first encounter with the deadly world of espionage. An encounter in which their lives are threatened, only to be saved by the timely intervention from an unexpected source.
As the inevitable war arrives, our heroine is recruited into a new section of the secret service. Again, her life is put in peril when she risks all by travelling across London during The Blitz to try and stop secret information being sent to the Nazis.
