It's 1955, and twenty-four-year-old Virginia "Ginny" Leonard has it all: a handsome, wealthy husband who refuses to touch her, a social circle of cutthroat women who mock her working-class background, and an enviable lifestyle based on façade. That is, until she meets the warm, passionate, unfiltered Peter Merchant. Ginny is soon torn between the sterile but affluent life she's worked so hard to achieve and the possibility of real happiness at the expense of everything she's ever known.
