The Sign of the Chief

When two boys, Korali and David, literally stumble across the remains of an old canoe, it is the beginning of an exciting but terrifying adventure. The traditional ceremony, used by Solomon Islanders, Korali's pagan ancestors, to launch such canoes, involves a magic spell. Transported into the past, the two friends find themselves stranded, in danger, caught up in tribal warfare. Is it magic, or is there a rational explanation? The experience is to have a profound effect on their friendship.
