Isaiah 53
Frederick Alfred Aston
The earliest Christian understanding of Isaiah 53 was that the Suffering Servant was Jesus Christ. However, that view has been challenged, especially by some modern Jewish teachers. With scholarship and reverence, the author has contested the validity of their challenge, showing their views not to be in harmony with Scripture. He has also, at the same time, given us a good defence of the fact that Jesus Christ was, indeed, the Suffering Servant.
